Art is a way of communication. As writers use their words to convey their opinions and imagination, I use paints to express thoughts and feelings. Painting is a record of life; it preserves artists’ ideas, emotions and dreams. My desire to converse with people, even with someone who I do not meet, drives me to create.
A shift of feelings, like the five steps of grief, is the essence of my work. It is encompassed by a reminiscence of the past. Expressing the sense of acceptance in the painting is the goal. Fear controls an individual’s mind until one learns to embrace it. In the process of painting, I strive to accept life and let things go.
